I frequently get asked…
It’s been almost 2 years since I started Matt Barber Interactive Ltd, and in that time I’ve taken on many different clients from a wide range of industries. What’s pretty standard though is the questions my clients ask me. So I decided to write this article (a sort of FAQ if you like) to cover some of the most common questions I get asked. There will also be a part 2 in a couple of months time. Here goes!
What other clients have you worked with?
I’ve worked with clients in a wide range of industries, from many different areas of the UK. These include industries such as environmental, construction, property, computing, events, accounting, hospitality, care, and logistics. Typically these include small businesses, micro-entities and sole traders.
What do your clients say about you?
Good things I hope! I’ve certainly never had an unhappy client, and have only ever received very positive feedback on the high level of service that I offer (I have lots of great testimonials). My clients tell me that I’m knowledgeable, professional and personable, and that I make the whole process very easy for them.
Will my website appear at the top of Google?
Yes, and no! For your actual company name, unless it’s extremely generic then it’s highly likely you’ll be right at the top. For other keywords and phrases through it’s much more complicated, and depends on how many competitors are vying for those same keywords. I design my websites to meet basic SEO standards, to give them the best chance possible of ranking well. Be very wary of anybody who tells you they can guarantee a top ranking for you (unless, of course, you’re paying for AdWords).
What do you use to build your websites?
I use WordPress, (who hasn’t heard of WordPress!), combined with a drag-and-drop builder called Divi. Using Divi has transformed the way I build websites, allowing for completely bespoke designs, and making it super easy for my clients to update their content once everything is completed. For my local clients I meet up with them and show them exactly what they need to do, but I also provide an easy to follow guide for those a little further afield.
What websites would you recommend for great free images?
As you might expect the best images are on paid professional websites, but there are 3 websites I often use that offer a great range of mostly free-for-commercial-use photographs. These are Pexels, Stock Up, and Pixabay. If you can’t find what your looking for on one of these sites you may need to go with a paid option, or look at taking some photographs yourself.
Can you advise me how my website could be improved?
Yes I actually offer a completely free website audit. For further details and to register your interest head over to my FREE WEBSITE AUDIT page now.
How much do you charge?
That really does depend on your requirements. Every website has different features and functions, whether you’re a retailer setting up an online store, an estate agents looking to list their properties on their own website, or an ecologist looking for a brochure style website. I find it’s always best to sit down and plan out what you require first, and then look at the cost after.
How long does a website take to build?
Again that depends on your requirements, but typically from 4 weeks for a fairly basic website, to over 3 months for larger projects. If you have a tight time frame to work to then we can discuss what your requirements are, and what can realistically be achieved in that time. Since it is down to the client to provide content (such as text and images), its important that these are provided before the building of the website starts.
How is best to contact you?
I typically work a standard working week, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, so if you need to get hold of me either give me a call on 07958 917954 or send me an email: email@example.com
Those are certainly the most common questions, but of course if you’d like to ask something specific get in touch and I’ll be happy to help. There’s lots of information on my website homepage too: http://mattbarberinteractive-co-uk.stackstaging.com
